PRODUCTION UPDATE

DECEMBER 2008

In the past couple of months, we've made some giant strides forward with the film - including new funding sources, interest from production companies and NGOs, attendance at IFP's Independent Film Week in NYC, and several new interviews with the World Bank and the Natural Resources Defense Council.  We're very excited about 2009 and the possibilities the new year brings in moving forward with the project.  We're hoping to return to Ghana in the late spring to shoot an update with the characters and explore a few more facets of the galamsey industry, and hopefully begin the final cut soon after.  However, in order to meet our ambitious production schedule we must continue to fundraise to achieve our budget goals.  But we're looking forward to bringing the film to its full potential through a variety of cutting-edge distribution networks and strategies and have big plans for the coming year.  Stay tuned!
